Anyone can rock the Kylie Jenner lip look

The craze of Kylie Jenner's dark yet nude, daring lips was a hit this Spring, and my bets are on that it will return this Autumn and Winter, and it will be bigger than ever. So, that said, I decided to recreate her giant pout, using a combination of high end and drugstore products.

Without jumping ahead too quickly, if you don't know Kylie Jenner and her lips, then take this post as my go to Autumn and Winter lip look. Who am I kidding, everyone knows that girl.

Before anything, it is vital for me to moisturise my lips. I do not understand how lipstick can be applied to dry, crusty lips? I forgot to photograph my moisturiser, but I am currently using a pink lemonade Chapstick which my friend brought me home from The States.

The next step is to outline your lips, and for this I used the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Stay On Contouring Pencil in Tiramisu. I find this product works wonders, with the added bonus of it only being £2.99. I like to overline the middle section of my bottom lip, a smidge over the middle of my top lip and just follow my natural lip line on the outer corners. This gives the effect of natural looking bigger lips. After my lips are outlined, I go ahead and blend the product, with small strokes, using a cheap lip pencil which I received years ago in a magazine. (Anyone will do!) To do this, I start from the edge of the outline - nearest my skin - and bring the brush towards the centre of my lips. By doing this, it ensures that all product is blended but at the same time the outline is still fine and crisp.

After the outline of my lips is no longer as harsh (yet still visible), I take my MAC lipstick in the shade Velvet Teddy. This is the shade that was the hit with Kylie, and MAC describe it as deep toned beige. Just out of habit, I start the lipstick on one side of my upper middle lip, bringing it to the upper corner. I repeat on the other side then finish by applying to my bottom lip. Because this lipstick is matte, I find blending key with this look. So, after I am happy with the amount of product on my lips, I take my lip brush and begin blending out the two colours with short strokes.

If, like me, you want your lips even more matte than the current result, I suggest you take a loose (preferable transparent) powder and dab it all over your lips. Then take a larger brush to fluff all the excess product away, leaving you with a much prominent, matte lip look.

On the contrast, if matte lips just aren't for you, take a piece of tissue and gently dab at your lips. This will remove just enough product for you to apply a shine gloss over the top.

Let me know what colours you will be rocking this Autumn, or if you will be following in Kylie's footsteps!

Summer, Kind of Wonderful

If you know where I received the inspiration for this title from then I am impressed, you obviously know your Gossip Girl just as well as I do! (No, of course I am not re watching the entire box-set for the second time)

Anyway, I think the time has officially come to say our farewells to the summer of 2015. Unlike Blair and Serena's summer, I was not prancing around New York or The Hamptons, *sigh*, but instead, I did have a lovely six weeks off, spending quality time with the people I love.  In celebration of this, I headed down the beach with my camera, and what more would you expect than handful of photos?!

Who of you are looking forward to Halloween and Christmas, because I know I definitely am!

But finally, in celebration of a wonderful summer, comment below your favourite memory of the past season...

Autumn Wishlist 2015

It's that time of the year again, where denim shorts and little crop tops are substituted for woolly jumpers and possibly even a thick scarf if we're lucky enough to have a super chilly day. With winter right around the corner, I have been scouring the web, in awe of jumping ahead and making sure I'm prepared for when the time comes to wave goodbye to the summer sun that one last time.

I think winter has always been the month to scare me the most, just the idea of heavy, bulky clothes does not appeal to me. Not to forget the cost of a winter wardrobe. Nevertheless, we are annually forced to come face to face with devil, and after hours of browsing the autumn/winter trends, my mind set is beginning to sway towards becoming more inclusive. I have also made my best effort to branch out to brands other than Topshop and Brandy (which win the title for taking up a considerable 95% of my wardrobe), so don't be too shocked when you scroll down to see that I've been admiring Free People and Nasty Gal.

I've linked all the photos up (it only took 2 hours!), so enjoy browsing what I hope to purchase this autumn, plus feel free to comment below some of the items on your autumn wish-lists.

Image MapRemember how I said that I hated the bulkiness of winter clothing? Notice the array of skirts and dresses; a trend which I hope to master this year.  From the fashion mood boards above, I suppose you could depict my style as quite girly but bold, and that is exactly the vibe I was hoping to portray. I don't know about you but my favourite outfit is the last one from Free People, that, right there, is my Christmas outfit sorted!

August Beauty Haul

I think it is inescapable for me to make a few beauty purchases when walking through Duty Free. I mean, you are being swarmed with a dozen high-end, crystal clear counters with shelves stocked high of wonders. I also think it is fair to say that I did spend quite a few pennies, but the majority was left over euros from previous holidays. (which obviously makes all of these splurges ok!!)

As always, I ran straight over to the MAC counter and grabbed a Velvet Teddy lipstick. Soooo many bloggers and youtubers have raved about this, I suppose I am a tad late on this bandwagon, however all that matters is I have it now and gosh what a GORGEOUS shade it is! Next from MAC, I was eager to buy a pinky toned eyeshadow, considering I previously chose to splurge on the more browny toned Naked 2 palette (over the more pinky Naked 3). I ended up picking the shade Star Violet, which is a pinky-brown plum, in certain lights a tad coppery. Expect this to be incorporated into  a couple of makeup looks, as it can be easily worn all over the lid or gently worked into the crease. Another lipstick which I decided to splurge on was one in the shade Capricious, a slighltly darker red, yet nothing too prominent as I tend to stick to the more subtle shades. Finally from MAC, I decided to try out this quad eye shadow palette, it's from the Mineralize line in the shade Golden Hours.

Coming home from  my holiday, I was extremely surprised (the omg this is amazing type of surprised) to find a Victoria's Secret at Malaga airport. I managed to persuade my mum to allow me to buy a couple of things from the 50% off stand, so I ended up getting the Forbidden fragrance mist and the Smooth Kiss lip butter. Both products smell amazing, but then the whole shop did, so I think a trip to the VS in London is needed.

Now onto the other random bits. I kindly received this Raspberry Lemonade Chapstick from my friend, who's just returned from America, and I suppose a girl can never have too many lip products! Next, I picked up another tub of the Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturizer, which is a little on the pricey side but is perfect for my skin. Last but by no means least, I was in need of a new dry shampoo, and instead of sticking to my trusty Batisse ones, I decided to try a Phil Smith one for a change.

As you can tell, August has been quite a pricey month, but then again I've had the whole month off school so it was the inevitable.

What have been your beauty buys of August?
